Sacred + Profane is the true story of a 7-year-old girl who was kidnapped by a serial killer when three serial killers simultaneously terrorized a coastal city murdering 28 people in the 1970s and her father was a detective on these cases. She survived her terrifying ordeal to grow up as a spirit medium who returns home as an outbreak of murderous demonic activity threatens to destroy the community, possess her family, and annihilate her very spirit and soul in a final apocalyptic battle between the sacred and the profane.

Act One is 1958 Great Neck, Long Island. In this deep enclave of Jewish families, a French nanny uses the absence of parents on vacation to convert two teenage daughters to Catholicism. The mom returns to discover in horror a makeshift chapel in their living room, with the nanny usurper Clementine saying Mass. The four women battle for power of influence, independence of offspring, the meaning of Jesus as power and/or love, and family jealousies explode. Act Two is a 1968 Rhode Island reunion a decade later, with nanny Clementine as outcast, older daughter as fanatic evangelist and her musician sister joining with mom to protect a rebel son who has crashed the reunion. His coming out as gay challenges their fragile beliefs, exposes destructive morality and threatens to tear apart the illusions of family.

Eighteen years after a dome vortex of electricity suddenly formed over San Francisco when a science experiment blew up a 1940s Expo, twelve “Incubator Babies” all born on that day are released from a mad doctor’s labs. This is a coming of age story of one of the twelve; a rebellious young woman whose mind is linked and body reincarnate of the female sentient intelligence living in the dome’s electrical vibrations. They meld mind and body to overthrow the elites who use the zero-point energy of the dome to become eternal.  Their story fuses fringe science, biohacking, and electro-punk with a bizarre melange of historical characters battling inside a petri dish of rebels, facists, overlords, mad scientists, hack doctors, demented artists, and female warriors, to either build a new utopia or annihilate their civilization.
